Licensed Veterinary Technician Students

Licensed Veterinary Technician Students
Lori Jo, Aimee, and Sam share a passion for helping animals and are dedicated to expanding their knowledge and skills within the veterinary profession. As Veterinary Technician students, they are developing a strong foundation in patient care, nursing skills, medical procedures, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory diagnostics, and client education. Working alongside our veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians, they gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to the compassionate, high-quality care we provide every day. Their responsibilities include assisting with patient examinations and treatments, collecting laboratory samples, processing diagnostic tests, obtaining radiographs, preparing medications, monitoring hospitalized patients, and helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized hospital environment. They also provide comfort and support to patients during their visits and assist in creating a positive experience for both pets and their families. Their commitment to learning and professional growth reflects their dedication to becoming skilled veterinary technicians. Upon completing their degree programs, they will prepare for and take the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) to earn their veterinary technician licensure in Virginia.
Lori Jo also serves as our Inventory Coordinator. In this important role, she helps ensure our hospital maintains the supplies, medications, and resources necessary to provide the highest quality care for our patients. Her attention to detail and organizational skills help keep our hospital running efficiently and support our team's ability to deliver exceptional veterinary care.
