Seven Bends Veterinary Hospital

Nuclear Medicine

Seven Bends Veterinary Hospital is proud to be only the fifth facility in the state, and the first private practice hospital in the state to be licensed to treat hyperthyroid cats with radioactive iodine.

Overview

Hyperthyroidism is the most common hormonal disease of older cats. Untreated, it will result in severe wasting, weight loss, and eventually death. Radioactive iodine is the treatment of choice for this life-threatening feline disease. Unlike medications or surgery, which provide control only, radioactive iodine affects a cure of this disease in more than 97% of diseased cats. Our license and our specially trained and certified staff now make this life-saving therapy available to area cats much more conveniently and much less expensively than other treatment centers. We are pleased to work with referring veterinarians to bring this state-of-the-art therapy to their patients as well. If your cat has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, please let us assist you in caring for your cat.
