Prescription Request
Use the form here to request a prescription for your pet(s) to be picked up at our office. Please note that a veterinarian must review the record and determine if a refill is appropriate, necessary and safe. Therefore, the receptionist will present your request to the doctor for approval and contact you to let you know the prescription has been approved and is ready for pick-up. You should receive confirmation within 24 hours. Please remember that the prescription is not available for pick-up until the receptionist confirms the refill request with you. Make sure and leave contact information so the receptionist can contact you promptly.

From our online Pharmacy and Pet Store you can order prescription medications just like those available from nationally advertised online pharmacies at comparable prices that we are not able to match at our in-hospital pharmacy. Our online Pharmacy stocks a wide variety of medications which can be ordered and paid for online and shipped directly to your home. When ordered from our online Pharmacy, there is no fee for our providing written prescriptions.
Should you desire a written prescription from our doctors to fill at other pharmacies, please note that we will charge a nominal fee of $4.00 to cover the costs associated with pulling the record, reviewing the case notes, and writing the prescription. This fee may be avoided by purchasing your prescription medication from our online Pharmacy above.
Virginia State Law, in order to prevent unsafe prescription practices, requires that in order for a veterinarian to prescribe medications for a patient, there must exist a valid, current, professional relationship with the patient that adequately evaluates the problem of your pet. If the original prescription is for a problem that has not been evaluated in some time, or if the pet is due for routine vaccines, or has not been examined by one of our veterinarians within a year's time, the veterinarian may be precluded by law from refilling your pet's prescription without re-evaluating the problem.
